Setting up Moodle

Summary

  1. Create the external tool for Allele in Moodle to obtain the Client ID and Deployment ID .
    • You will need a handful of settings from us for this, these are listed below.
  2. Then, use the form on this page in Allele to submit your LTI link request.
    • We will need some settings from the external tool in Moodle for this. In addition, there will be some standarized values that we need from Moodle, too.

These values are used in the Moodle-side configuration to add Allele, which must be done prior to the completion of this form.

  3. Public key type: Keyset URL

Tips and tricks

  1. For Moodle, these values may look similar to yours to help determine if you’re on the right track. The important part is noted in bold below and likely will match your values.
  2. Public keyset URL: https://moodle.example.edu**/mod/lti/certs.php**
  3. Access token URL: https://moodle.example.edu**/mod/lti/token.php**
  4. Authentication request URL: https://moodle.example.edu**/mod/lti/auth.php**
  5. For the auto-accepted domains, we accept a comma-separated list of any potential domains, e.g. “university.edu,email.university.edu”
  6. If you are planning to register for LTI as an employee of a university or educational system, please know that you may need the pre-approval of central IT or otherwise before proceeding.
